Reading aloud!

I have been focusing on learning English language for the past few years. My favorite way is reading aloud! I try to read aloud, for example, news articles, the White house news conference scripts, all sort of textbooks and paperbacks. I can concentrate on the story more than I just do silent reading.

These days, I've been reading aloud texts from a book "No Momma's Boy" by Dominic Carter, a prominent newsman on NY1. I can learn not only how to tell your own story honestly or effectively, but also NY political news history!! Although he had such a tough time in his childhood, he's obtained great success! Now I've reached 205 pages and been impressed with his life story all the time!

Obama city and the Presidential Campaign in the US!

Have you heard of a city named "Obama" (小浜) in Japan?
In fact, it's become very popular now as the Presidential Election in the U.S. is getting heated up! Several local people even organized Barak Obama's fan club although no one in the group is eligible to vote in the election.

You can read news article about them here.

This fanaticism started from Mr. Obama's words; when he visited Japan in 2006, he mentioned that the immigration officer said to him "I'm from Obama!"

Now, several Japanese media have reported this news on TV, newspapers and so on. I think it's very interesting!

The words I was given

We started to attend Sunday services at church in our neighborhood from the beginning of January. A few weeks ago, I was given the words and so impressed with them. I want to share them with you!

For this reason I tell you: When you pray and ask for something, believe that you have received it, and you will be given whatever you ask for.
And when you stand and pray, forgive anything you may have against anyone, so that your Father in heaven will forgive the wrongs you have done.
(Mark 11:24-25)

When we face obstacle in our path and the obstacle is so strong, we tend to give up our hope without trying to do our best. The words taught me I shouldn't give up anything, and just believe I have already received it!! Yes, I'll believe so!

SNOW!!

It's been snowing this morning!!
Do you like snow? I love it. It's cold but what a romantic scene!

Primary elections are more important than 45 deaths?

It was Super Tuesday in the U.S. yesterday. So after the big event, all media talk about the results.

I was shocked to find an news article "Tornadoes Rip Through South, Killing at Least 45" !! At least 45 lives were lost by the tornadoes! But I can hardly see the big news on any TV, Radio or other media. Why? Super Tuesday is more important than the precious lives? Or I just missed to see the tornadoes coverages?

It made me think a lot and I feel very sorry for the lost victims and their family.
